Tim Sanders Bio:
Every since Tim can remember he’s always had an intense passion for music. Like most he grew up listening to Motown and was truly inspired but what really did it for him were sounds like Nat King Cole’s “The Christmas Song”, John Coltrane’s version of “My Favorite Things” and the soundtrack of “The Westside Story”. You see his older sisters were the main suppliers of the music he was exposed to early on. As a result Tim was introduced to a healthy myriad not to mention styles of music. Mind you he still grooves to several genres but truth be told at heart he’s a straight up rocker. Originally Tim was homegrown in Philadelphia, PA as for now he’s anchored in Leesburg, VA.“Through internalizing I discovered music as an excellent means of self- expression and a positive outlet for creativity, the rest as they say is history”. Foremost is his guitar; he currently has a Stratocaster and a Takamine G series acoustic. Additionally he plays keyboards, in particular an Alesis QS 6.1. To piece it all together he runs Logic Audio Pro and Reason on his MAC G5 computer. When Tim needs to take “his band” on the road he packs it all up in his iBook. As a rule he doesn’t listen to mainstream artists. All the music he downloads comes from artists that generally speaking most people will never hear. In his opinion, there are TONS of great indie and unsigned stuff on the Net that are just as entertaining if not more so.

David Sparkman’s Bio

David Sparkman, was born in Ohio to a Pentacostal Preacher and a mother who encouraged him to bless everyone with his God given talent. He began singing at age three and has never stopped. As a child he found his destiny in both God and music. Total immersion in both, perputuated the desire to learn other instruments and to write the music and lyrics that grew within him. Today, David Sparkman is an extremly gifted singer, songwriter and producer as well as an accomplished musician who plays piano, guitar!

This gentleman has developed a unique signature vocal style that’s warm and inviting. He surrenders a velvety rich and smooth tenor voice replete with rounded spinning tones and a tender lilting falsetto. Once you’ve heard him you’ll agree, that his voice is sheer pleasure to the listener. His pure artistry and creativity reveal his amazing talent for expressing an emotion and delivering a thought. His soulful R&B trills and runs, stream effortlessly through his music. His vocals are playful, exciting, sensual and unpredictable; he really captures the mood and feel of various music styles.

David’s musical influences are Phil Keaggy, Andre Croche, Art Tatum, Jimi Hendrix, Sly and the Family Stone, Jimmy Smith, Marvin Gaye, Nat King Cole, Stevie Wonder, Michael McDonald and Donnie Hathway. He was also very inspired by the English music invasion; The Beatles, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin and the British bands of that era.

David tours the United States as keyboardist with Smooth Jazz guitarist, Peter White. In 2003 he played keyboards/vocals on the Smooth Jazz Christmas Tour with Peter White and saxophonist Mindi Abair. He most recently played in England with Peter White and Smooth Jazz saxophonist Jaared. While there, he debuted two of his original songs from his CD David Sparkman-Livin’ For Love, and received a positive and enthusiastic response.

When on hiatus from touring, David’s busy at home in Los Angeles, CA producing and writing for new artists. You can enjoy his soulful vocal style and musicianship on his new CD David Sparkman-Livin’ For Love and on Peter White’s latest CD (2004). And, you can still enjoy his music from time to time in Beverly Hills, California at the Four Seasons Hotel and The Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

In 2002 he co-wrote a song with pop star Britney Spears. David has played piano/keyboards and or sang with: Al McKay (Earth Wind & Fire), Jarvis Church (Nelly Furtado), Peter White, Michael McDonald, Stevie Wonder, Bernard Purdy, Melba Moore, Javier, Seal, Dolphin Days All Star Band including Jeffrey Osbourne, Michael Paulo, Rick Braun, Pauline Wilson, Peter White and others. He’s opened for: Roberta Flack, The O’Jays and The Ohio Players. Today’s featured tracks are a brief introduction to my upcoming Independent CD release “Marching In – A tribute to the March King” John Philip Sousa.

In keeping with the spirit of the 4th of July, I thought it would be fun to share these tracks with you while they are still in their ‘rough mix’ status and give you a quick glimpse into my recording project which has a scheduled release date of Dec 07’!

For those of you not familiar with my “Symphonic Guitars” concept, what I like to do is transpose and transcribe Orchestral Scores to fit the guitars tonal range, layering guitar tracks creating a massive electric guitar “Wall of Sound”.

First up is “The Stars and Stripes Forever”
This most famous march was composed by John Philip Sousa on Christmas Day, 1896.
This was a grand undertaking in my development while learning about home recording. 4 weeks later and nearly 370 multi-track overdubs… I can proudly say “have a listen”!

Then after that is the John Philip Sousa arrangement of “The Star Spangled Banner” circa 1892 which was written and performed at the Chicago Worlds Fair….
At any given point in the song you will be hearing a culmination of at least 70 tracks of guitar..!

Both tracks feature Professional drummer extraordinaire “Rick Shlosser” who helped me along in the studio!

Declaration of Independence


When in the Course of human Events, it becomes necessary for one People to dissolve the Political Bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the Powers of the Earth, the separate and equalStation to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, adecent Respect to the Opinions of Mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the Separation.

We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness-That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed, that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these Ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its Foundation on such Principles, and organizing its Powers in such Form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient Causes; and accordingly all Experience hath shewn, that Mankind are more disposed to suffer, while Evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the Forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long Train of Abuses and Usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a Design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their Right, it is their Duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future Security. Such has been the patient Sufferance of these Colonies; and such is now the Necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government. The History of the present King of Great-Britain is a History of repeated Injuries and Usurpations, all having in direct Object the Establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid World.

He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public Good.

He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing Importance, unless suspended in their Operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

He has refused to pass other Laws for the Accommodation of large Districts of People, unless those People would relinquish the Right of Representation in the Legislature, a Right inestimable to them, and formidable to Tyrants only.

He has called together Legislative Bodies at Places unusual, uncomfortable , and distant from the Depository of their Public Records, for the sole Purpose of fatiguing them into Compliance with his Measures.

He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly Firmness his Invasions on the Rights of the People.

He has refused for a long Time, after such Dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the Legislative Powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the Dangers of Invasion from without, and Convulsions within.

He has endeavoured to prevent the Population of these States; for that Purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their Migrations hither, and raising the Conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.

He has obstructed the Administration of Justice, by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary Powers.

He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the Tenure of their Offices, and the Amount and payment of their Salaries.

He has erected a Multitude of new Offices, and sent hither Swarms of Officers to harrass our People, and eat out their Substance.

He has kept among us, in Times of Peace, Standing Armies, without the consent of our Legislatures.

He has affected to render the Military independent of, and superior to the Civil Power.

He has combined with others to subject us to a Jurisdiction foreign to our Constitution, and unacknowledged by out Laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:

For quartering large Bodies of Armed Troops among us:

For protecting them, by a mock Trial, from Punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:

For Cutting off our Trade with all Parts of the World:

For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:

For depriving us, in many Cases, of the Benefits of Trial by Jury:

For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended Offences:

For abolishing the free System of English Laws in a neighbouring Province, establishing therein an arbitrary Government, and enlarging its Boundaries, so as to render it at once an Example and fit Instrument for introducing the same absolute Rule into these Colonies:

For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:

For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with Power to legislate for us in all Cases whatsoever.

He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us.

He has plundered our Seas, ravaged our Coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the Lives of our People.

He is, at this Time, transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of Death, Desolation, and Tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty and Perfidy, scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous Ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized Nation.

He has constrained our fellow Citizens taken Captive on the high Seas to bear Arms against their Country, to become the Executioners of their Friends and Brethren, or to fall themselves by their Hands.

He has excited domestic Insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the Inhabitants of our Frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known Rule of Warfare, is an undistinguished Destruction, of all Ages, Sexes and Conditions.

In every stage of these Oppressions we have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble Terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated Injury. A Prince, whose Character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the Ruler of a free People.

Nor have we been wanting in Attentions to our British Brethren. We have warned them from Time to Time of Attempts by their Legislature to extend an unwarrantable Jurisdiction over us. We have reminded them of the Circumstances of our Emigration and Settlement here. We have appealed to their native Justice and Magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the Ties of our common Kindred to disavow these Usurpations, which, would inevitably interrupt our Connections and Correspondence. They too have been deaf to the Voice of Justice and of Consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the Necessity, which denounces our Separation, and hold them, as we hold the rest of Mankind, Enemies in War, in Peace, Friends.

We, therefore, the Representatives of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the World for the Rectitude of our Intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly Publish and Declare, That these United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be, Free and Independent States; that they are absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political Connection between them and the State of Great-Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as Free and Independent States, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do. And for the support of this declaration, with a firm Reliance on the Protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.

The Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty National Monument officially celebrated her 100th birthday on October 28, 1986. The people of France gave the Statue to the people of the United States over one hundred years ago in recognition of the friendship established during the American Revolution. Over the years, the Statue of Liberty has grown to include freedom and democracy as well as this international friendship.

Sculptor Frederic Auguste Bartholdi was commissioned to design a sculpture with the year 1876 in mind for completion, to commemorate the centennial of the American Declaration of Independence. The Statue was a joint effort between America and France and it was agreed upon that the American people were to build the pedestal, and the French people were responsible for the Statue and its assembly here in the United States. However, lack of funds was a problem on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. In France, public fees, various forms of entertainment, and a lottery were among the methods used to raise funds. In the United States, benefit theatrical events, art exhibitions, auctions and prize fights assisted in providing needed funds. Meanwhile in France, Bartholdi required the assistance of an engineer to address structural issues associated with designing such as colossal copper sculpture. Alexandre Gustave Eiffel (designer of the Eiffel Tower) was commissioned to design the massive iron pylon and secondary skeletal framework which allows the Statue’s copper skin to move independently yet stand upright. Back in America, fund raising for the pedestal was going particularly slowly, so Joseph Pulitzer (noted for the Pulitzer Prize) opened up the editorial pages of his newspaper, “The World” to support the fund raising effort. Pulitzer used his newspaper to criticize both the rich who had failed to finance the pedestal construction and the middle class who were content to rely upon the wealthy to provide the funds. Pulitzer’s campaign of harsh criticism was successful in motivating the people of America to donate.
